The Forest Fund: how we give back to our home, London
What is the Forest Fund?
As London’s only homegrown operator, we’re committed to making the city a better place.
That's why we created the Forest Fund: our new investment dedicated to supporting projects that create positive social and environmental impact across London. Through a dedicated annual budget of £200,000, we will support Londoners, create opportunities, and help build a more sustainable future for our city.
The Fund will invest in organisations and projects that help make London greener, healthier and more inclusive, with funding focused across three pillars: Environmental, Social and Economic.
Environment
By making emission-free active travel more accessible and affordable, we're helping to create a greener, more sustainable environment. But we want to go even further by supporting initiatives that improve our natural environment, tackle air pollution and encourage biodiversity.
We're already making a difference through a number of partnerships and initiatives. For example, we work with the local charity Root & Shoot, donating our used tyres so they can be repurposed into playgrounds instead of going to waste.

Social
We want to help more Londoners access the benefits of cycling through cycle training. That's why we've sponsored Islington's Adult Cycling Training programme and supported The Bikeability Trust's Lost Generation research this year.
We’re also unlocking opportunities for Londoners at the grassroots level, through funding local football and community partnerships. Like cycling, women and girls have traditionally been underrepresented in football. That's why we created our Homegrown Wins initiative in 2025, which provides more opportunities for young women to get involved in the sport. So far, we've sponsored pitches for three teams: South London Girls, Ryan FC and Fusion Ladies FC.
Economic
We are actively improving access to affordable transport through a number of discounted schemes like Friends of the Forest which offers discounted rides for students, key workers, NHS staff, people with disabilities or carers and those aged 60+.
We're also creating local opportunities through apprenticeships, providing free cycling minutes for charities, and partnering with local suppliers across the boroughs we operate in.
To support local jobs and apprenticeships, we work closely with London boroughs to connect residents with roles across our business.
Meet Khyle , a 23-year-old from Feltham, who joined us as a bookkeeping apprentice through our partnership with the London Borough of Hounslow. By creating pathways like this, we’re helping people gain valuable skills and experience at the start of their careers.

Forest Fund is designed to support organisations making a tangible difference in London's communities. If you are part of an organisation or initiative making a difference and you operate within one of our boroughs, you can apply for funding here.
